EPE is pleased to welcome Kate Pippia as our Scientific Advisor supporting the sustainment of the deployable exploitation capability for Defence, with a focus on quality systems, laboratory governance, and scientific advisory support.
Kate Pippia brings more than 20 years of experience in forensic science and human identification across government and private laboratory environments.
As the Founder and Director of Identilab, a NATA-accredited (ISO/IEC 17025) DNA testing laboratory in Brisbane, Kate has built and sustained an end-to-end human identification capability from concept through to accredited operation, covering technology evaluation, workflow design, method validation, and quality systems.
Before founding Identilab in 2016, Kate spent nine years as a Scientist at Queensland Health Forensic and Scientific Services, conducting forensic DNA casework in support of criminal investigations.
Kate comes on to the team to provide specialist scientific advice in the fields of forensic science and the development of the lab quality management systems in line with contemporary international standards. Kates role will bolster Defence exploitation operations by aligning processes and methodologies to ensure accurate and timely data collection and forensic analysis.
