EPE Innovation is an integration and development hub creating the next generation of defence, personal protection, and space technology.

At our core – EPE’s multi-disciplinary team including robotics, systems, and software engineers, who work from a bespoke mechatronics and integration facility within our headquarters. Our nearby MILTECS facility provides a state-of-the-art testing ground to validate and progress prototypes, fast-tracking commercialisation.

Our team contains trusted subject matter experts across the defence, space and personal protection spheres, and hold appropriate security clearances to enable discussion of sensitive information.

Delivery and commercialisation

EPE takes ideas from concept through to the end user, specialising in the rapid development of prototype technologies through design, build and test cycles. This supports the integration of systems, increasing and accelerating impact.

Our Innovation team links seamlessly with EPE’s well-established commercial pathway, providing partners with the opportunity of working with one organisation from idea to market.

We have extensive experience integrating with and developing
Robotics and Autonomous Systems. This includes platform
development and integration of various sensor technologies
to provide a wide range of effects. EPE’s innovation spans
a wide spectrum of sensors (including CBRNe) and supports
our mission to enable and protect in hazardous environments.

EPE is commercialising novel filtration capabilities to provide personal
protection in the form of our Broad Spectrum Respiratory Canister (BSRC).
We are partnering with CSIRO to create a solution that increases break
through times of harmful chemicals, utilising Metal Organic Frameworks (MOF),
ultimately providing increased protection in various form factors.

SpaceEPE is Grantee and co-lead for the consortium behind the Australian
Space Agency’s Roo-ver Mission. Our engineers, working as part of
the ELO2 consortium, are designing and building a semi-autonomous
lunar rover that will contribute to a NASA Artemis Mission later this decade.
