The Counter Explosive Hazards Project will provide the New Zealand Defence Force with a dedicated expeditionary EOD capability that spans Maritime, Land, and Special Operations environments. The project also provides an Explosive Detector Dog capability. In order to support our regional and global commitments and outputs, our personnel will be required to step into harm’s way to save lives, protect property, and return normality. Through the establishment of a Prime Vendor partnership with EPE, and their outstanding service, the CEH project has been able to procure the right equipment, produce the required effects, and deliver a world class capability in a timely, cost-effective and efficient manner.
The operational requirements for Counter Improvised Explosive Device (IED) operators in Afghanistan were both technically challenging and required EPE to deliver under the most demanding timelines. Their support to ADF operations was first rate and has undoubtedly saved lives. The project was completed in time, to budget and, in terms of deliverables, exceeded expectations.
