RSDL (Reactive Skin Decontamination Lotion)

BEST-IN-CLASS SKIN DECONTAMINATION DEVICE

RSDL is the only FDA Cleared, CE Marked Class IIA Medical Device for Skin Decontamination

  • The only CE Class IIa Medical Device for skin decontamination, competing powders and wipes lack medical device approval or rely on weaker Class I certifications.
  • Proven neutralization , not just absorption or degradation. No aerosolization or secondary contamination risk, unlike absorbent or particulate-based decontaminants.
  • Backed by real operational data : trusted and field-validated by the U.S. Department of Defense and NATO allied forces for over a decade.
  • Extensive peer-reviewed safety and efficacy data:7-9 competitors rely on limited internal testing or unpublished results.
  • Validated for high-risk scenarios: RSDL’s Class IIa status reflects stricter testing and higher protection standards versus powders or wipes.

RAPID DECONTAMINATION WHEN IT MATTERS MOST

RSDL acts rapidly within two minutes, reducing the risk of harm and preventing further contamination

  • Early and rapid skin decontamination is critical to prevent dermal absorption of chemical contaminants, reducing serious systemic or dermal damage, as well as secondary exposure risk for health care personnel.
  • RSDL removes or neutralises CWAs from the skin within two minutes, minimising harm and preventing further contamination.
  • RSDL must be applied to exposed skin as soon as possible after exposure to a chemical agent – the user wipes the exposed skin with the lotion. The lotion removes the chemical agents and rapidly neutralises them into non-toxic compounds.

COMPACT AND PORTABLE, WITH LASTING RELIABILITY

RSDL is compact and portable, with lasting reliability

  • The RSDL solution has a compact and lightweight design that fits easily amongst other solution – outer packet is 7 laminate layers, designed to be carried on person without damage, easily to tear open in full gear.
  • It is available in two sizes, 21 mL and 42 mL packets – one 21 mL packet is sufficient to decontaminate the hands, neck, and face. It is also available as a training solution with non-active lotion.
  • The liquid texture allows the user to feel where the RSDL has been applied, even with eyes closed.
  • It can be stored at a temperature between 59°F and 86°F (15°C to 30°C) and has a five-year shelf life from date of manufacture.

EFFECTIVE PROTECTION AGAINST CHEMICAL THREATS

RSDL is highly effective in decontaminating and inactivating CWAs

  • RSDL is highly effective against CWAs with evidence of superior performance against vesicant and organophosphorus CWAs compared with water, bleach, and dry sorbents.
  • With its dual mechanism of action, RDSL achieves both physical removal and inactivation of the CWAs, including nerve agents.
  • The Army tested the safety of RSDL in over 300 people by conducting skin irritation, sensitisation and photo irritation studies .Its efficacy against chemical agents was proven both in vitro and in vivo.
