KFT GDS 2000
GDS 2000 is a non-aqueous decontamination agent based on alkoxides, which is produced in ready-to-use form without the need to add water.
It is used for the rapid detoxification of all chemical warfare agents on the surfaces of vehicles, materials, infrastructure and other objects. As it is highly reactive, GDS 2000 requires a reaction time of just 5 to 10 minutes, even at low temperatures.
The decontamination agent is supplied in a 20-litre bottle, has a shelf life of ten years if stored in the original container, and can be used at temperatures between -30 °C and +49 °C. 0.1 to 0.2 litres are sufficient to decontaminate a surface area of 1 m² that has been exposed to maximum contamination with 10 g of warfare agent (in accordance with NATO criteria).
GDS 2000 is biodegradable (88 % in the “OECD 28 days closed bottle test”) and satisfies the requirements of water hazard class 1, which means it has a low hazardous level for water. It has already been tested by several reputable institutes, such as the Wehrwissenschaftliches Institut für Schutztechnologien – ABC-Schutz (WIS), (German Research Institute for Protective Technologies – NBC Protection), the Netherlands Organisation for Applied Scientific Research (TNO) and the Military Technical Institute of Protection, Brno (MTIP).
