

Jim was a British Army Ammunition Technical Officer (ATO) in different EOD and Ammunition roles in UK mainland, Germany, Northern Ireland, Bosnia, Iraq and Afghanistan, culminating in commanding an EOD squadron covering South-eastern England.
Jim’s military career also included roles such as Ambulance Squadron commander, and UN military observer, simultaneously gaining qualifications including a BEng in Information Technology and an MSC in Explosives Ordnance Engineering. Post-service Jim has established himself as a driven professional with substantial experience in government and international corporates. Roles include leading a company contracting suppliers to deliver training and expertise in support of the Qatari Joint Special Forces, managing full process procurement from capturing requirements, developing Training Needs Analysis, writing supplier requirements to contract award and quality assured delivery.
An internationally recognised Counter Explosive Ordnance expert who initiated and ran the European Defence Agency C-IED programme, Jim then became a technical subject matter expert for C-IED in NATO before spending four years in Dubai Police Explosive Security Department as an EOD Mentor Instructor and Operator and the Department Training Lead.
Jim brings his vast global experience to EPE to help government customers in EMEA define their capability requirements and design and deliver specialist complete capability solutions.
