EPE is very excited about supporting the Defence Apprentice Program having Apprentices placed with us for on the job training. Our first apprentice, Josh has recently finished his placement. He’s described his time spent at EPE:
‘EPE, as the latest addition to civilian detachments for trainee RAEME tradesman, provides us with the opportunity to conduct maintenance, design, fabrication and troubleshooting on explosive protection, detection and disposal equipment. The skills learnt throughout our trade training are expanded with the unique tasks that EPE provides and challenges us to “think outside the box”, a necessity for the role of Electronics Technician. We look forward to improving the qualiity of RAEME tradesman through partnership with EPE’
Josh did a great job – contributing to the completion of a number of projects – repair of ECM backpacks returned from deployment in Afghanistan, finishing production of devices for Defence MARS training, Bomb Suit inspections, and participated in the TALON Maintenance Course delivered to Defence by EPE.
